Like a tree falling in the forest, we all know that an having an opinion about something is essentially meaningless unless strangers on the internet agree with you.
But how is one to find like-minded people who will back you up when you say that Moulin Rogue was the dumbest movie ever, no one could sing, and seriously, was I the only one shouting at my TV for her to just DIE ALREADY FOR FUCK'S SAKE so Ewan could go cry on his typewriter and Baz Luhrman could finish rubbing his musical glitter junk all over my face and I could go back to pretending that entire film never happened? (No? Just me?)
Well, for all your irrational internet opinion needs, Amplicate is here for you.
The site is pretty brilliant in its simplicity. Simply type in something that you either love or hate, and you'll be taken to a page that aggregates similar opinions, both from direct users and those pulled from all corners of the internet.
Apparently founded as a way to document companies' customer service records, Amplicate has since been appropriated for things that really matter, like whether Matt Smith sucks (currently one of its top three topics, for the record). Predictably, we here at Fangasmic (read: myself and
thatneedslube, as has been documented here before) were drawn like angry moths to the flame:

The "m" in Fangasmic stands for maturity.
We're digging Amplicate, though. It has the potential to provide an instant temperature gage on just about anything, though we sense it's not being utilized by Fandom much as of yet. How else to explain the 69% approval rating for Stargate Universe, or the fact that Supernatural is apparently only 1% awesome?
Amplicate is fun to explore, though, whether you're in the mood for sharing some warm fuzzies (like for our current favorite: lube!), or in getting your collective hate on- like say, you know, for Matt Smith:

"Matt Smith looks like a clumsily carved root vegetable on toothpicks who was cast as the Doctor by accident. He cannot act, because root vegetables cannot act."thatneedslube, IS THAT YOU?
