[science] Sci Fi Breakdown

You may have noticed that here at Fangasmic we are dedicated, heart and soul, to science.Clearly the scientific method is hard at work in our hearts, as we strive for accuracy and meaningful results. So here, have a completely scientific breakdown of a few scifi shows by key content categories:

It was in space, but there wasn't a lot of gay explosion science love, which are sci-fi requirements for me. I'm just saying, robots are okay or whatever but I really need at least 50% of a space show to involve gay explosion science love. In space.

I've listed this as 31% gay but obviously it depends on the episode. We all know some episodes of SGA were 100% PURE GAY while others drunkenly tried to force themselves into some value of heteronormative behaviour involving John or Rodney, and failed, badly. It made up for those times with nerds with guns. In space!

Star Trek: TNG is the show that made me love Sci-Fi for it's politics with a side of nerds with guns, explosions, and science. Occasionally people got into some sexytimes. Those were not good times.

Ah, the show that started it all*. I can't decide if there was too much sexytimes in this show or not enough explosions, but it had a lot of space, and we like space. A lot.

Wait, 24? You might think this is not scifi but it is. Well, that or fantasy but I'd rather not label it that way since it was a horrible, terrible, no good show. It's scifi, because there is no other way to explain how Jack Bauer continues to exist other than fictionalized science. Also we all know 24 had nothing really to do with politics, in case you were wondering.

0% space - maybe. We are still not sure, JJ! Maybe you can clarify? This graph gets an extra category because we honestly have no idea what the fuck happened in this show. It could have taken place on the moon, maybe. [personal profile] damngirl probably knows better than the rest of us, but she's not telling.

*That being said, Sherlock Holmes was probably the fandom that started it all, what with people cosplaying, writing fanfiction, and totally slashing Sherlock and Watson long before TV was a thing.

If you could categorize your favourite scifi (and not really scifi but who cares) shows like this how would they score? I mean, obviously Hawaii Five-0 is like 70% gay and 30% explosions, but other than that.

HOW CAN YOU SAY ST:TOS IS MORE GAY THAN SGA. HOW.

Okay granted it was the '60s.

Did anyone in SGA fight to the death rather than have sex with a woman? I THINK NOT.
